A day of WSBK, charity and football at Imola
The WSBK riders on the field, along with former Serie A players, in the name of charity
The fourth round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship at Imola will kick off with an exciting media and charity event on Thursday 8 May.
At the Romeo Galli stadium in Imola, the "SBK Dream Team" and the "Imola All Stars" will face each other in a football match, for what will be the best way to kick start the racing weekend for fans and enthusiasts of the series. The World Superbike riders will indeed take part in the match and the funds raised will be devolved to the "Anna Guglielmi" Centre, that provides accommodation to the families of people who are hospitalied at the Montecatone Rehabilitation Institute. The price of the ticket is only 5 euros..
Tom Sykes, Marco Melandri, Loris Baz, Davide Giugliano, Claudio Corti, Ayrton Badovini, Luca Scassa, Leon Haslam and many others will lace their boots and give their contribution to an amazing day of fun and charity. The match will consist in two halves of 25 minutes each and a final penalty shootout challenge.
The line ups for both teams have been revealed and the SBK stars will count on former professional Serie A players to help them winning against the local team, the Imolese: Enrico “Tarzan” Annoni, Marco Negri, Moreno Mannini, Ivano Bonetti, Sergio Domini, Giuseppe Lorenzo, Cristian Lantignotti, Massimo “Condor” Agostini and Alessandro Bianchi will take in turns on the field under the Superbike colours, in the name of charity.
DJ Ringo and Virgin Radio, a well known Italian rock radio station, will also provide their support via interviews and live coverage directly from the stadium.
Famous Italian sports commentator Guido Meda, representing broadcaster Mediaset Italia, will have the honour to kick-off the match.
The match will be preceded by an autograph session starting at 15:50, taking place inside the stadium and involving riders of all classes. The WSBK stars will be also available for pictures and questions.
The paddock of the "Autodromo Nazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari" will be nevertheless accessible for free to visitors, from 14:00 to 18:00 of the same day.
