Morbidelli grabs pole position

Franco Morbidelli (San Carlo Team Italia Kawasaki) secured the first slot on the grid for today's Superstock European Championship 600 race at Imola. The race winner at Portimao was able to snatch the pole position for just 0.004 seconds from team mate Alessandro Nocco, with only a few minutes left in Qualyfing 2.


Tony Covena (Nito Racing Kawasaki) took the last spot of the front row by finishing third ahead of Christian Gamarino (Goeleven Kawasaki), Nicola Morrentino (Team Trasimeno Yamaha) and Championship leader Gauthier Duwelz (MTM-MVR Racing Yamaha), who was able to climb up to 6th after yesterday's 12th place in Qualifying 1. The session was red flagged a few seconds before the end as 11th place Dakota Mamola (Yakhnich Motorsport) crashed unhurt, with his YZF-R6 laying in the middle of the track.
