WorldSBK.com provides a quick round-up of the facts and figures from the sixth eni Superbike World Championship round at the Miller Motorsports Park circuit in the USA.
• Second career pole for Jakub Smrz after the one he posted in Misano, 2009. With an interval of two years and eleven months between his first and second pole, Jakub recorded the third longest wait in WSB history. Haga leads the way with three years and ten months from Albacete 1998 to Sugo 2002, while in second place we can find the 2003 world champion Neil Hodgson. He had to wait three years and three months from Donington 1997 to Brands Hatch 2000;
• Tenth front row start for Tom Sykes: this year he has always started from the front row;
• Best qualifying career result for Davide Giugliano, fourth, for the first time on the front row;
• 24th career win for Carlos Checa in race one, the fifth in Miller. The fastest lap data in this track from the Spaniard is even more impressive: he has posted seven fastest laps out of ten races run here. Carlos has also led 110 of the 206 laps run in Miller so far, leading no less than eight races out of ten;
• Marco Melandri equalled his best weekend in Superbike with a first and a second: the same results he scored last year in Donington, Aragon and Brno;
• Chaz Davies scored his best career result in race two, fourth.
