Parkalgar Honda team manager speaks of past and present
Simon Buckmaster, boss of the Parkalgar Honda Racing team in the Supersport World Championship, is already looking forward to the 2011 championship; as well he might with three strong riders in the squad.

"I feel confident that our new signings, Sam Lowes and James Ellison, will be able to run up front from the very start," said Buckmaster, who was attending the British Motorcycle Live show at the NEC in Birmingham. "Both of them are experienced riders and along with Miguel Praia we have a good line up for 2011 already."

The team, privateer all the way but well supported by Portuguese owners Parkalgar, has come close to winning the Supersport World Championship for the past two years, but narrowly missed out each time. Although naturally disappointed to have come so close more than once, Buckmaster was honest in his appraisal of the situation.

"I am proud of everyone who has contributed to our efforts over the past few years. They have all done a good job. When you look at the records, we have won 12 of the 25 races held in 2009 and 2010, which is remarkable really; nearly half the races. Last year Eugene scored eight wins and two other podiums, all within 13 races. In almost any year that would have been good enough to win the title. Last year Eugene crashed in one race at Portimao but still got going again to score points. There was only one DNF, at Brno. We as a team are also proud to have played a part in Eugene's career, because he is a very talented rider."
