New high for Camier after Assen podium
At Assen Camier, 23-years-old, also followed the number one rule in racing - beat your team-mate - by outpacing his team-mate Max Biaggi in qualifying, and then taking third place in race one, when Biaggi was sixth. Even a fall from his machine in race two came while Leon was fighting for his second podium of the day, pushing too aggressively on a less than ideal set-up.
'I'm obviously very pleased with race one because it was my first WSBK podium,' said Camier. 'Unfortunately I lost a lot of time behind Toseland in race two; he was taking strange lines which made him very difficult to overtake. Once in third place I saw the gap with Haslam getting smaller and I wanted to push for it by braking late, but I lost the front and crashed. We'll have to look at the glass as half full: we worked well, growing throughout the weekend.'
