Marco Bussolotti beefs up for Superstock 1000 challenge

The Italian will be on a Team QDP Honda Fireblade, and with the aim of strengthening his muscles for the challenge on the heavier machine, he is currently training hard in the gym. "I'm pretty small to be honest and for me it's not going to be easy to ride a Superstock 1000 machine without the right preparation" said the 20 year-old from the Marche region of Italy. "I've still got a bit of the carpal tunnel problem that conditioned my 2009 season and am trying to resolve it, but I'm optimistic about 2010. I feel that I'm in good shape, I won't have a difficult team-mate in the garage (Petrucci), and I'm happy with the new team. The technicians and mechanics are working well and I'll also have the chance to race in CIV, which will be useful training for the FIM Cup races. I couldn't have asked for anything better this year."

Bussolotti's aim in his debut year will be to learn the tricks of the trade as quickly as possible, even though like every ambitious young rider he'll be looking to make the most of every opportunity. "It'll be tough because there are some really strong riders in this class. But I really want to try and win also with the 1000s."

During the week Marco works in his father's electrical systems firm while at the weekends he goes out and does Supermotard. "I don't actually have much free time and when I do I like to spend it with my girlfriend, Paola. Off the track I'm just a normal guy, like many of those of my age..."
