Corser, Martin - and Smrz - test BMW at Mugello
The B&G team had asked for the test as BMW Team Manager Davide Tardozzi explained: "The test for Jakub was just because his team is thinking of changing their machines for 2011. In the times that Steve Martin was not riding the bike in the test Jakub made some laps, not too many. He was not doing special times because we told him what we would do to him if he crashed!"
Smrz' impression was reported to be favourable, in what was more of a machine try-out than a real test.
Both Martin and Corser did test the machine extensively, confirmed Tardozzi. "With Troy we tested things to improve weight transfer and the position of the bike, the balance of the bike, let us say. I think Troy was pretty satisfied about the test and I hope that after Misano next week and maybe Imola test after Misano, we can increase. Our task is to make a big step for Silverstone. We test again with other teams like Aprilia, Yamaha and Suzuki at Misano on 15 and 16 at Misano, next Tuesday and Wednesday."
