Antonelli limbers up by winning CIV at Misano

For Antonelli the race itself wasn't an easy affair, seeing as the Lorini Honda man had to get the better of one of the stars of the CIV domestic and European championship series (Riccardo Della Ceca) and in particular Eddi La Marra, his team-mate in the FIM Cup.

"Eddi and Riccardo were riding really well and I had to remain focussed right down to the chequered flag," said the Italian, who currently lies seventh overall in the Cup. "I'm really satisfied with my form because I managed to lap at a constantly quick pace, so that's a real boost for the championship race. The Pirelli Trophy is a good formula because it has the same rules as the FIM Cup and this allows you to use the same tyres, so it's good training for international races. For me, it was a good opportunity and I'll try and put it to good use on the weekend of the 27th and get my first podium of the year."
