Resch gets started in WSB at Valencia

After his Suzuki success in 2008 Resch had planned on a year of Superstock racing in 2009, but he was just outside the age limit for that class, so after meeting with his sponsors a decision was reached to race the top class of production-derived racing, World Superbike. He therefore took his first two race starts in the WSB class at Valencia last time out.

Resch is a protégé of WSB race winner and his fellow Austrian Andreas Meklau, who saw him race Supermoto and told him that street racing would be the best for him. Roland has maybe chosen the most difficult year imaginable to join in the super-competitive WSB class, but he is confident that with more experience for his team and himself he will be much closer to the top riders.

After Valencia, Roland said, "Because our bike arrived too late we have a lot of work to do. In Valencia nothing worked. So I really was surprised that I was only three seconds behind the front. I am sure that we will find 1.5 seconds within the next few weeks. My sponsors believe in me and know what I can do with this kind of bike."
