Foret gets down to business with Kawasaki Lorenzini
Three days of testing at Almeria in Spain confirmed that the Lorenzini by Leoni team will continue to be a competitive force in Supersport, even after switching from the Yamaha R6 to a new Kawasaki ZX6R. The Italian based team, which for the first time ever finds itself working with a bike from the Japanese manufacturer, carried out a lot of work over the three days and managed to obtain some important data for the future.

Cold temperatures and strong winds failed to prevent Frenchman Fabien Foret from completing over 140 laps without any problems. Even at this early development stage the ZX6R was already right on the pace at the Spanish track and Foret's time of 1 minute 38.010 seconds, which he set on the final day before testing was interrupted by rain, was just reward for the work done by the Italian squad.

"These first three days on the Kawasaki have filled me with enthusiasm!" declared the former Supersport champion. "I really didn't expect to find such a competitive bike, and even at this basic level of preparation, we are close to if not better than the bike that I raced in the world championship up until a few weeks ago. I was able to lap easily together with Lascorz and Fujiwara, two riders who have just concluded an entire championship on this bike, and I could see that there wasn't that much difference, so we're continuing to work to be up at the front in 2010. I'm really grateful to Vanni Lorenzini's team, a great bunch of guys, who have proved themselves to be a truly professional squad."
