Sofuoglu makes holy pilgrimage
Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider, Kenan Sofuoglu, used part of the summer break to make the pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest place in the Muslim world.

Turkish ace, Sofuoglu, is a devout Muslim, praying five times per day - always in the direction of Mecca, which is located in Saudi Arabia.

Celebrating his 25th birthday at the end of August, the summer break in the World Supersport championship schedule was the perfect opportunity for Sofuoglu to make the pilgrimage that all Muslims are expected to undertake at least once in their lives.

"It was an amazing experience for me," Sofuoglu said of his trip. "It's something that I have found difficult to do with my racing schedule up to now. However, even though we have had two tests with the team, the longer break this year made it possible.

"The weather was very hot," he continued, "but it is an incredible place. Now I feel really motivated to get back to my racing and I would like to go to Mecca every year!"
