Manufacturers' championship update
Of the four factories that have won races so far in 2009 Ducati has 412 points, Yamaha 362, Honda 306 and Aprilia 207. A spread of points for sure, but of course some manufacturers have more riders on their machinery than some others. Yamaha, for example had no points at all in one race this year, as did Aprilia, but with so many Ducati and Honda riders in the field, points of some value have been scored by those manufacturers at every single round.
In Supersport, things are incredibly tight in the Manufacturers' Championship. Honda has 211 points, Yamaha 210 - just one behind - and the rejuvenated Kawasaki effort has 133.
Historically speaking, Ducati has won the WSB Manufacturers' Championship 15 times, Honda four times, Yamaha once and Suzuki once.
In Supersport, Honda has won six, Yamaha three, Suzuki two and Ducati one.
