Blake Young becomes the latest American to join the World Superbike trail when he lines up for the Suzuki Alstare Brux team this weekend at Donington. With Max Neukirchner still out until Brno at the end of July, Young steps into the place of Fonsi Nieto, who deputized for the German in the last three rounds.
The 21 year-old from Wisconsin, USA is currently riding the Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing GSX-R1000 in this year's AMA Superbike championship, and has taken two podiums to date. Young is being followed by one of motorcycle racing's greats, former champion Kevin Schwantz, who was present at Misano over the weekend to discuss the possibilities of Blake with Alstare team owner, Francis Batta.
"I'm really excited to race the Suzuki Alstare Brux GSX-R1000 at Donington Park this weekend", declared Blake. "I've been racing motorcycles for as long as I can remember. I've always wanted to race Superbike and I got the chance to do that with the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team in America. Now, getting the opportunity to do a World Superbike race with the Suzuki Alstare Brux team in Europe is like a dream come true. I'm looking forward to it and want to make the most of this opportunity."
