Thirty-four on the floor
So far in 2010, and with three rounds remaining, there have been no less than thirty-four riders who have competed in at least one WSBK race, an impressive number made all the more noteworthy given the current cold economic climate across the globe.

Wildcards like Sheridan Morais (at Kyalami), Daisaku Sakai (at Monza), Tommy Bridewell and Ryuichi Kiyonari (at Silverstone) and Federico Sandi (at Misano) played their part in the running total, but in a tough year for riders missing races through injury, we have also seen Simon Andrews, Josh Brookes, Makoto Tamada and Akira Yanagawa make appearances to replace recuperating colleagues.

Of those 34 riders who have taken to the tracks in 2010, no less than 18 have won at least one race in their WSBK careers, ranging from Noriyuki Haga with 42 in total to Andrew Pitt with a single.

With three rounds left to run there will be at least one more rider making his first WSBK appearance, Ian Lowry, who will replace Chris Vermeulen for the Kawasaki Racing Team at the Nürburgring.
