Further weight reduction for twins from Silverstone
Following the official results of Race 2 held at Brno (Czech Republic), the FIM SBK Technical Director informs that the average value of the event averages over the last three events of the 2010 FIM Superbike World Championship, held at Miller Motorsports Park (USA), Misano (San Marino) and Brno (Czech Republic), favours the 1000cc 4-cylinder motorcycles by more than 5 points.
Therefore from the next SBK event, that will take place at Silverstone (UK) on 30-31 July and 1 August, the new minimum weight for 1200cc 2-cylinder motorcycles shall be 162 Kg, a reduction of 3 Kg as stipulated in Article 2.4.4.2 (Minimum Weight Adjustments) of the FIM rulebook. The minimum weight for 1000cc 4-cylinder motorcycles shall remain unchanged at 162 Kg.
