Crutchlow's season comes in threes
His first full WSBK season has been a bizarre one so far for Yamaha Sterilgarda rider Cal Crutchlow, with three poles and three podium finishes to his credit, yet he is only just inside the top ten. Things come in threes for Cal, as he has had three no-scores as well, including the cruel luck of a stone puncturing his cooling system when he was on an almost guaranteed second place, if not a win, as he diced with Max Biaggi at Monza.

Even at Miller the bad luck just keep coming in race one, before he took his latest podium finish in race two. "I think the first race should have been the same as the second one, unfortunately I got caught up in Johnny's crash and lost some valuable places," said Cal.

Crutchlow gave praise to his team for all their hard work before and during the American weekend, but he felt he was simply outgunned in the USA. "We've not had the pace of Carlos Checa and Max Biaggi this weekend, they did a fantastic job. I tried my hardest and I think we've done the best job we can. All credit to the Yamaha guys we've worked really hard for this result."
