Haslam backs England's World Cup campaign with new helmet
Points leader Leon Haslam's demonstration of support for the England football team in South Africa came good on Sunday when the Suzuki Alstare rider won race 2 wearing a commemorative Arai helmet especially prepared for the sixth round of the World Superbike Championship at Kyalami.
The World Cup Finals get under way in four weeks time in South Africa, and the artwork on the helmet includes the English nation's three lions crest synonymous with King Richard "The Lionheart", as well as the St George's Cross, Leon's "91" logo, two large, golden lion's heads, as well as the FIFA World Cup Trophy.
"I love my football and really wanted to do something to recognise and support England, especially with us having this World Superbike round in South Africa right now, just before the World Cup all gets under way," said Haslam. "I'll wear the helmet for Sunday's races and maybe some races after that - I suppose a lot depends on how far England progress in the tournament!"
