Foti convinced of BMW's Superstock potential
"The bike has a lot of potential," declared Foti, "and it's for this reason that, despite the excellent times set by our two riders, we are still some way off our target. The bad weather didn't allow us to get the best out of the Valencia test, but we took the opportunity to exchange views with our German colleagues".
With Ayrton Badovini (photo) and Daniele Beretta as its two riders, the BMW Motorrad Italia team focussed on setting the German bike up in view of the opening round of the season. "We worked on the electronics and the set-up and now, in our racing department, we've got a lot of work to do. In March, during two scheduled tests at Valencia and Portimao, we'll have a better idea of where we stand. I'm happy with our two riders: we all know Badovini well and I think that, together with Berger, he'll be favourite for the title, while Beretta will take a bit more time to lap at his pace but he will get there in the end and I'm sure he'll also be one of the protagonists in 2010".
