Lacalendola lines up for Superstock 1000 debut

Lacalendola scored a third place at Mugello in the 2009 edition of the Italian Superstock 1000 Championship, so he could prove to be one man to watch out for this season as he makes his debut in the category.

"The mutual respect between me and the Stop&Go team allows us to be ambitious" declared Lacalendola. "It'll be difficult to win the title but we hope to be the surprise of the season. Our aim is to improve throughout 2010 and maybe score some good results".

The 21 year-old will have no worries about facing up to the category's main protagonists after three years spent in 125 GP. "I know that the men to beat will be Berger and Badovini and that there will be a lot of tough adversaries but I'm not going to be there just to make up the numbers ...I'm ready for the challenge".

The Stop&Go Racing Team led by Andrea Petricca, which won the 2009 title with Stefano Cruciani, will have its first tests at the end of January. Before the start of the season three more tests, two at Valencia and one on an Italian track, have also been scheduled.
