Spies Sums Up His WSB Season
Ben Spies was back in the Portimao paddock less than 24-hours after winning the WSB title in his rookie season, as journalists from all over the world tested his and other top team's machines on the Monday after the season-ending races.

Having has some time at least to get used to being World Champion at the first attempt Spies said that he was more relieved than anything else that he had finally won it, but that the real high would come later. "Today had been busy with other people riding my bike but right now it just feels like a weight had been lifted off me," said Spies. "I haven't started patting myself on the back yet. I have won titles before and it never hits me right away; it will in the next few days. It will be good when I get back home and realise that the season is over and we won it."

Spies has a thousand memories of his year in WSB racing, but his biggest impression of the WSB scene is of the people he has spent his first year in Europe with.

"I have met a lot of good people here, and have a lot of friends already. I have had a lot of fan support here as well and I appreciate it all. A lot of people have helped me out."
