Podiums escape the grasp of hard-charging Haslam
After qualifying on the first row of the Nurburgring races Leon Haslam (Stiggy Racing Honda) looked set for a potential podium, particularly in race two, but an off-track excursion ensured Haslam would continue his season in an overall sixth place with three rounds to go.

Leon found his technical set-up degraded somewhat after his off-track run in race two, which prevented him from making up places at the flag. He was sixth and fifth in the first and second races respectively.

Haslam was rueful about his raceday showings, particularly his race two result after a bright start. "I am a bit disappointed with the result of my second race," said Haslam. "I got the start I wanted for the race, and I had a good battle with Johnny. I felt comfortable riding behind him but Johnny kept pulling a bit on the straights and I thought I could keep it up. I suffered from a bit of front end chatter but when Spies passed me and put me onto the gravel the chattering seemed to have gotten worse. I made a few mistakes when I went back on to the track and dropped back a second from the pace I set before. I feel it could have been a win and easily a second place, but that is racing."

Haslam will be the team's singleton rider for the rest of the year following the confirmation of John Hopkins' latest injuries.
