Positions unchanged after wet Q2

World Superbike riders took the chance to test their bikes in full-wet conditions during the second qualifying session at Magny-Cours, due to the heavy and continuous overnight - and early morning - rain. Predictably, positions did not change from Qualifying 1, meaning Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team) kept first place in the combined results.

Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad GoldBet) clocked the fastest time of the session in 1'54.696, ahead of Davide Giugliano (Althea Racing Aprilia), Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team) and the Team Ducati Alstare duo of Ayrton Badovini and Michele Pirro. Michel Fabrizio (Pata Honda World Superbike) was the most active rider on track, as the Italian completed 18 laps of the French venue.

Spaniard David Salom, onboard the Kawasaki Racing Team ZX-10R, crashed unhurt at Turn 11 causing a red flag early on in the session.
