High expectations for factory Aprilia riders in Turkey
The Aprilia Racing Team riders are looking forward to the eleventh round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship, that will take place this weekend at the Intercity Istanbul Park. Both Sylvain Guintoli and Eugene Laverty are hoping for good results on Turkish soil as they're still in contention for the title, although in very different situations point-wise.

"Istanbul Park is a great track" said Sylvain Guintoli "where I have good memories from my GP days. More importantly, the fight for the championship is on, and this is very exciting. After the disappointment in Germany, my goal is to get back on the top step of the podium."

Eugene Laverty has raced before on the Turkish track, too, even though he reckons it will be very different on a Superbike compared to his previous experience on a 250 cc bike. Considering the 40-point gap from the leader, Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team), Laverty knows exactly what he needs to do:

"I raced in Istanbul back in 2007 in the 250cc World Championship so it's not entirely a new circuit for me. I expect that it will be much different on a superbike though so I will need to relearn the circuit. I'm still in the title fight and I will do my best to outscore my championship rivals this weekend"
