Rain affects Qualifying 2 at Moscow Raceway

World Superbike Qualifying 2 was held under wet conditions at Moscow Raceway due the rain fallen in the early morning, meaning the positioning from the first session remained unchanged from yesterday's first qualifying.

Almost all riders made their way onto the track to find a set-up on the drying track, except for injured Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team), who chose to sit out the 45-minute session to let his shoulder rest.

Former team mates Davide Giugliano (Althea Racing Team Aprilia) and Carlos Checa (Team Ducati Alstare) had crashes this morning. The Italian, who lost control of his RSV4 at Turn 1, escaped uninjured, while the 2011 World Superbike Champion suffered a minor concussion after a technical problem on the back straight. A final decision on Checa's participation to the two remaining session for today will be taken shortly.
