WSBK riders take a packed ‘shopping break' in Brno

Brno's regular weekday afternoon shoppers were treated to an unexpected surprise this afternoon when a group of top World Superbike riders appeared at the traditional pre-event press conference and autograph signing session.

The Galerie Vaňkovka, a vast shopping centre situated in the centre of the second-largest city in the Czech Republic, was the scene for a meet and greet with the public and media involving Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing Team), Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport), Carlos Checa (Ducati Althea Racing), Jonathan Rea (Honda World Superbike), John Hopkins (FIXI Crescent Suzuki) and Loris Baz (Kawasaki Racing Team), as well as SBK General Manager Paolo Ciabatti and the Brno circuit management.

The riders first answered questions from journalists and then made themselves available for an extended photograph and autograph session. As a token of appreciation for his victorious contribution to the Czech circuit, points leader Max Biaggi was given an original piece of the old Brno road track, which began its activity in 1930.
