| Monday, 02 July 2012 12:25 |
Yesterday's race two winner Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) led the field in morning testing at Motorland Aragon, as some of the top riders in the SBK class tested out 17 inch wheels for the first time, as well as the existing 16.5 inch rims.
Second to Melandri was Ayrton Badovini (BMW Motorrad Italia GoldBet) with Aprilia rider Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing) third. Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) pushed on to fourth fastest time, with Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing) fifth, ahead of Leon Haslam (BMW Motorrad Motorsport). No fewer than 19 riders tested today although not all have yet tried out the new 17-inch wheels, nor will all of them get the chance to test with them quite yet. One more test session remains this afternoon.
