Rain hampers proceedings at Aragon test

Two days of private testing have been getting underway at MotorLand Aragon today for those teams which have selected the Spanish circuit as their official test track, in preparation for the eighth round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship here at the end of next week.

These include Aprilia Racing (Biaggi, Laverty and tester Hofmann), ParkinGO MTC Aprilia (Davies), both the BMW outfits (Melandri and Haslam of Motorrad Motorsport) and Fabrizio and Badovini of BMW Motorrad Italia Goldbet, together with Kawasaki Racing Team (Sykes and Baz) and FIXI Crescent Suzuki (Hopkins and Camier).

Typical summer downpours drowned out much of today's scheduled testing and only the French youngster Loris Baz capitalized on the situation in the afternoon to gain some experience in the wet on the Kawasaki ZX-10R he has been riding since Donington as replacement for the unfortunate Joan Lascorz.

The test continues tomorrow with hopes that the weather will improve.
