RIDERS

• Three races for Max Biaggi in Silverstone and three finishes in the upper zone of the charts: a couple of sixths and a fifth. Max goes into this Silverstone weekend with sixteen wins, only one shy of the most successful Italian rider in Superbikes, Frankie Chili;
• Leon Camier was able to beat his team-mate Biaggi last year in race two, when he finished third starting from sixteenth. Six races run here in the British championship, two wins: in 2008 and 2009;
• Carlos Checa was seventh and tenth last year. The Spaniard in race two this weekend will celebrate his 100th start;
• Mark Aitchison was second to Brendan Roberts in Silverstone in the 2007 Superstock 1000 race, he wasn't as lucky in last year's Supersport race, when he started 20th and finished 22nd;
• Troy Corser entered eleven of the thirteen races run in Silverstone, missing only the 2002 round. Three podiums for him: a couple of second places in 2005 and a third in 2007. Last year he was tenth in race one and fell in race two;
• bad memories for Joan Lascorz: at the start of last year's Supersport race a contact with Eugene Laverty triggered a horrific accident. Joan was hit by Roberto Tamburini, broke his shoulder and fractured some ribs;
• in last year's MotoGP race, Marco Melandri fell on the opening lap while battling with Superbike world champion Ben Spies;
• seven podiums out of eleven races in Silverstone for Noriyuki Haga. The Japanese rider up to 2010 always qualified on the front row here and won the first 2004 race. Last year a dismal weekend, with a fifteenth place in grid, a fourteenth and a thirteenth in the races. Noriyuki didn't score points here only in the first 2005 race due to a fuel feed problem in his Yamaha;
• in 2007 Roberto Rolfo scored here one of his two fourth places, his best superbike result (the other was in Monza);
• a seventh place in race two last year and a seventh in the first British superbike race two years ago are the best result for Sylvain Guintoli in this track;
• James Toseland in 2005-2006 was able to finish always on the podium in Silverstone, winning race two in 2005. Last year he was fifth in race two starting from the twelfth grid spot;
• seven races for Lorenzo Lanzi in Silverstone: his best result came in 2007, when he was seventh starting from fifth;
• Eugene Laverty won the Supersport race last year in front of Kenan Sofuoglu and Gino Rea;
• Tom Sykes was 18th and 14th last year. In 2008 in the second race of the British championship he finished third behind Leon Haslam and Shane Byrne;
• Chris Vermeulen never fared worse than fourth in the four superbike races he entered here in 2004 and 2005, winning the second 2004 race;
• Michel Fabrizio finished only two of the five races he ran here, scoring his best result last year when he was fourth in race one behind Cal Crutchlow, Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam;
• pole, win and fastest lap in last year's Superstock 1000 race for Ayrton Badovini;
• two race weekends for Leon Haslam in Silverstone, in 2004 and last year. In both cases he qualified fifth and always finished in the top-5 spots. His best result is a third in race one last year;
• Jakub Smrz qualified on the front row last year (fourth), but in the race he wasn't able to keep the same speed, finishing thirteenth and ninth;
• in last year's Superstock race, Maxime Berger finished second behind Ayrton Badovini. He was on pole in the 2007 Superstock 600 race, but the event was cancelled due to bad weather. He was third in the 2005 Superstock 600 race behind Claudio Corti and Yoann Tiberio. The French rider raced here also in Supersport, in 2006, finishing twelfth.

TEAMS

• Aprilia's best result was the one recorded in the first race run here: a second by Noriyuki Haga in race one in 2002;
• Ducati won nine times in Silverstone, but last year -for the first time- they weren't able to climb on the podium. A Ducati was always present on the front row in Silverstone in every race run here;
• Honda won twice in Silverstone: in 2002, race one (Edwards) and in 2004 in race two (Vermeulen), last year with Jonathan Rea they were second in both races. A Honda always finished in the top-4 spots but for 2003, when the Japanese manufacturer didn't have a works team;
• Kawasaki's best result here is a fourth by Chris Walker in 2002: last year they weren't able to finish in the top-10 both in qualifying and in the races;
• Suzuki never won in Silverstone, their best result is a second scored in both 2005 races by Troy Corser and in 2003 in race two by Gregorio Lavilla. Suzuki isn't able to start on the front row here since 2005, when Troy Corser scored pole;
• the only wins for Yamaha in Silverstone came last year with a double by Cal Crutchlow. Yamaha has scored podiums here since the second 2005 race and from the same year the best Yamaha on the starting grid was either on pole or in second place.

MILESTONES IN SILVERSTONE

2004 - maiden win and fastest lap for Chris Vermeulen;
2006 - maiden pole for Tommy Hill, at his first superbike race;
2010 - Cal Crutchlow scored his maiden superbike win, dominating both races: he scored the double from pole and posted both fastest race laps. 200th podium placement for Yamaha.
