Lowes gears up for second race in Castrol Honda colours
Alex Lowes is continuing his World Superbike preparation as he limbered up for his second race in Castrol Honda colours next weekend with a two-day test as Assen in the Netherlands. Lowes has been called in at Silverstone to again replace the injured Jonathan Rea in the Dutch-based team, and he was given the chance to put in some some extra mileage this week on his CBR1000RR at the classic TT circuit.

Thanks to favourable weather conditions on the second day following a damp Tuesday, the young British rider managed to get his time down by a second yesterday, making a positive impression on the Ten Kate prepared Honda Superbike machine.

"The test was really good," declared Lowes. "I started to feel really comfortable on the bike and my lap times improved a lot over the test, I changed the bike a bit more to suit my style. The team are really fantastic and have helped me understand a lot more about how to ride and get the best out of a superbike."
