Barrier tops Q2 to get pole

Reigning Champion Sylvain Barrier (BMW Motorrad GoldBet) has scored his 12th career pole position, 4th in 2013, ahead of Barni Racing Ducati duo of Niccolò Canepa and Eddi La Marra, after a highly contested Qualifying 2 session. The 24 year old from Oyonnax, France, current leader in the points, was the only rider able to set an incredible time of 1'49.900, new best lap for the series at Imola.


Lorenzo Savadori (Team Pedercini Kawasaki), race winner at the previous Italian Round in Monza, will start the STK1000 race from the fourth slot on the grid, sharing the second row with Czech Ondrej Jezek (SK Energy - Fany Gastro) and Marco Bussolotti (Rider Promotion by T. Trasimeno BMW). Four Kawasaki riders to complete the top-10, as Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS) ended up 7th, followed by Leandro Mercado (Team Pedercini), Matthieu Lussiana (Team Aspi) and Alessandro Andreozzi (Team Pedercini).
