Three-time Australian Champion Bryan Staring scored a terrific victory in the fifth round of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup at Motorland Aragon last weekend. The 25-year-old dominated the race from the first lap to the last, also scoring the fastest lap of the race in 2 minutes 01.466 seconds, to take his first-ever win in the category. It was also the first win the for the Kawasaki Pedercini team in a race and a return to the top podium slot for Kawasaki for the first time in 12 years.
Bryan Staring declared, "I'm so happy for my team. They have supported me for two years and I'm happy to be able to repay them. I literally left Australia with a backpack and a passport and went off to try and crack Europe. I showed up in the pits in Magny Cours, France, in 2010 and knocked on the Pedercini garage door looking for a ride. They gave me a test on the Monday and two years later here we are with a victory. I just don't know what to say apart from never give up on your dreams!"
Now that he's broken the ice, Staring can hope for a positive second half of the season with a series of tracks he reckons are congenial to him. "Moving forward I am feeling very confident heading to Brno and Silverstone. With all the hard work we have done I now have a very good feeling with the bike. I finally feel like I can ride to my full potential, like I did in Australian Superbike in 2010. I hope we can continue this success for the remainder of the season."
