The 20-year-old will return to action with the Nutec – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki team for 2020, in a bid to fight for wins and the Championship once more

Having had a successful 2019 season which has seen him on the podium, Nick Kalinin (Nutec – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki) will remain in the same line-up for the 2020 World Supersport 300 Championship. Ahead of the final round of the season, the Ukrainian goes into the Motul Qatar Round with a new contract secured and with peace of mind that he will be back on the grid with a competitive package in 2020.

Kalinin has had two podiums from his 24 starts in WorldSSP300, with one of them coming in 2019, when he was 31st on the grid at Donington Park but battled his way through to finish in third place. Currently in tenth place in the Championship and tied on points with Hugo De Cancellis (Team Trasimeno Yamaha) ahead of him, Kalinin will look to improve his final position on his first visit to the Losail International Circuit.

Talking about his new deal for 2020, he said: “I am very happy to remain in the team, where we have developed good family relationships. I like working with crew chief Frank Krekeler, I know that neither he or my mechanic Dennis will go to rest if we have questions. I am grateful to my sponsors and fans for their support. I want to thank them with the results.

“My team and I have everything to fight for the title. We analysed the work this year, made conclusions, and in the next season we will make even more efforts. As for me, I will do everything to fight for the title in 2020. In the meantime, we will focus on the race in Qatar and aim to fight in the final of the season with a victory.”

Team manager Rob Vennegoor gave his thoughts on the deal: “We are grateful that Nick Kalinin has again signed for our team to participate in the 2020 World Supersport 300 championship on the Kawasaki Ninja 400 prepared by SKM.

“Last year, we worked closely with Nick and his partners, a good harmony both with our complete team as also technical crew and Nick's enormous fighting spirit are important spearheads for working together again in 2020.”
