On this day in 2010… Cal Crutchlow takes his first WorldSBK win!

If being on pole position wasn’t already a reason to get the British fans on their feet, Cal Crutchlow romping to a home win in Race 1 certainly was!

Nine years ago to this day, Cal Crutchlow took his Yamaha to winning ways in WorldSBK, with a famous win at his home round at Silverstone. In front of a massive British crowd, the then-reigning World Supersport champion blasted off from pole position and took the lead from Jonathan Rea in the middle of the race, before edging away and coming home for his first win, with Jonathan Rea second and Leon Haslam completing an all-British podium – the first third of the season and the first in the UK since Brands Hatch Race 2, 2003!
