Spaniard took to the track for the first time aboard the ZX-10RR of the Italian squad

With the 2019 season set to kick off at Phillip Island in Australia next February, WorldSBK riders and teams have no time to rest. Jordi Torres and Team Pedercini Racing were among those who are still not on holiday, as they were out testing on Monday and Tuesday at Almeria in Spain, in order to get ready for a new exciting WorldSBK campaign.

Coming back to the SBK® paddock for 2019 after a short stint in MotoGP™ as replacement rider of injured Tito Rabat, the Spaniard made a positive return to the field. As sun shone down during both the two days, Torres was able to do a considerable number of laps and had the time to familiarize both with his new crew and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR machine.

“The balance overall of these two days is a positive one” said Torres. “The bike has a great potential and I had good feelings on it. It permits to do a lot! It is easy to put it up right, the front is stable, and you can understand easily what is happening at the rear. Now we only need to focus on what we need to improve in order to be more competitive like how to turn the bike fast enough to save meters when exiting the corners”.

Giordano Mozzi, new team manager of the team added: “These two days have been really important, and they were useful especially for Jordi to get acquainted with the new bike and surrounding. Working with such a professional rider is really motivating for us and we are doing all our best for him! We still haven’t tested the 2019 updates of the bike, but thanks to the rider’s feedback now we know what his basic requests are. Next season will be very interesting, and we are working hard to be ready and competitive for our first round at Phillip Island. If we will continue this way, I am sure we will be able to achieve important results next year!”.

“I am really satisfied about this pre-season test!” commented team owner Lucio Pedercini. “Jordi had good feelings on the ZX-10RR and we enjoyed working with him during these two days. He gave us a valuable feedback to prepare the bike for the next winter tests that will take place at Jerez and Phillip Island. I am sure we will work well together this season”.
