Italian team ready to take on tough season

Two weeks remain on the calendar before MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship bikes take to the track in Australia for the final pre-season test, and Kawasaki Puccetti Racing Team are ready for the battle as they launched their 2018 livery in Italy on Sunday.

Competing in both the FIM Supersport World Championship and World Superbike Championship for 2018, the Italian based team had all three riders present at the launch as Toprak Razgatlioglu, Kenan Sofuoglu and Hikari Okubo took to the stage with team manager and owner Manuel Puccetti.

Turkish youngster Razgatlioglu will make his WorldSBK debut this season as he takes the step up from European Superstock 1000 Championship, where he narrowly lost out on the title last season. Showing some promising times in the off season tests this winter, there is no doubt he will soon be shining on the ZX-10RR.

Five -time WorldSSP champion Sofuoglu will try to win back the crown this season as he returns from injury which he sustained last year in France, breaking his hips and subsequently missing out on the final title fight despite a heroic recovery in Qatar. Joining him will be Japanese rider Okubo who makes the step over from the CIA Landlord Insurance Honda Team, and will hope to become quickly acquainted with the ZX-6R.

Manuel Puccetti, Team Owner explains: "Last night was really wonderful! I want to thank all the sponsors, the team and the insiders who participated and helped to make the event unique. Now we really just have to start the season. The first round of Phillip Island is next and we cannot wait to leave! Thanks again to everyone for the great affection and the great support given to the team ".

Don’t miss how the three riders get on in the 2018 season all with the WorldSBK VideoPass, as the Yamaha Finance Australian Round kicks off from 23rd – 25th February.
