American enjoys first time out on track with TripleM Honda

As he is set to make his MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship debut, PJ Jacobsen (TripleM Honda World Superbike Team) has been building on his rapport with the team and looks at building up a strong set up with his Honda CBR1000RR machine.

Not focusing on lap times throughout the opening day of the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve test, Jacobsen recognises its difficult for himself and his team as they are starting from scratch in terms of set-up and pace. Not yet at the level to put in competitive lap times, the American is keeping his motivation high ahead of the 2018 season.

“There’s a lot of work to do,” begins Jacobsen. “We’ve been working all today and the team have been working with the electronics system, and working really hard over the winter to get the parts together to build the Superbike. There’s a lot that goes into this class and the team have been working really hard, we’ve learnt so much and we’re going to keep focusing on the electronics, and hopefully by tomorrow it will be a bigger step for us.”

The American continues: “Every rider says they don’t care about the times, but today we weren’t focused on the times, just the electronics and the time spent on the bike. Other teams have had time to test but, this is our first time on the asphalt so we are focusing on running well.”
