Ducati test rider Michele Pirro completes first public demo laps around Brands Hatch

The new red machine has landed. With the production model still to be officially presented to the world, the Ducati V4-R was shown for the first time in its race-spec form on track at Brands Hatch.

As MCN reports, MotoGP™ test rider Michele Pirro trialed the new Ducati bike at the circuit last weekend, completing a few demo laps for the British crowds. This is the first time the V4-RS has been seen on track in public in its full WorldSBK-spec and will be nearly identical to the bike that both Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) and Álvaro Bautista will test and race with in the coming months.

After wowing the British fans, Pirro spoke highly of the V4’s potential: “The concept of this bike is very close to the MotoGP bike. The engine is very similar. I have tested this bike for some time because I know the MotoGP bike very well. I think the potential is very high, everything about it is an improvement on the V-Twin”.

“In the next few months Ducati will work very hard with this bike; the racers will get their first rides on it very soon and work through the winter. I think from the first rounds next year the bike will be competitive”.
