Ducati rider looks forward to continuing to improve pace at Jerez

Heading out to the Circuito de Jerez for a two day test, Xavi Fores (BARNI Racing Team) had a positive opening day with his Paniagle R machine, and despite not clocking in a fast lap he was impressed with his pace throughout the day.

Fores has been focusing on adding some weight to the rear of his Ducati, and although he won’t receive any new parts until January he has been happy so far with the progress he has been making on the Barni Racing Team. With some work to do on older parts in order to see how his Ducati reacts, there will be a full day of testing on the cards for Thursday, as he awaits the new parts in 2018.

Regarding the opening day as a whole, Fores commented: “Overall today was a good day, we tested something with the rear parts, putting more weight on the rear for it to be easier for us to stop the bike, as this can be a challenge around this kind of circuit. So it was a positive test, I was not able to do a fast lap but my pace throughout the day was constant. We are really happy because we made a big improvement on the race, which means we are working in the right way.”

“We have something to test tomorrow,” continued the Spanish rider. “Not something new but to see if we can have some benefits or not, from the material that we have had throughout the season, and especially waiting for the new rules and new parts on the bike in January.”
