MV Agusta Reparto Corse welcomes two new riders with official Vamag partnership in WorldSSP

The Italian squad of MV Agusta Reparto Corse will welcome new riders Raffaele De Rosa and Ayrton Badovini into the fold for 2018, ready to start the WorldSSP season, backed in their title fight by the experience of Team Vamag. The newest partnership in the World Supersport category will be officially known as MV Agusta Reparto Corse by Vamag.

Superstock 1000 World Champion in 2010, Ayrton Badovini is competing for the team with a substantial 15 years racing experience. The 31-year-old has earned himself 22 podiums and 14 pole positions during his years across the WorldSBK, WorldSSP and STK1000 classes. The native of Biella is joined by his fellow countryman Raffaele De Rosa, another very talented rider, who won the STK1000 World Championship crown in 2016.

The Italian duo will familiarise themselves with the MV Agusta F3 675 machine for the first time during winter testing in Cartagena.

Ayrton Badovini - "I feel reborn, the realisation of this opportunity gives me a strong boost for the new season. Feeling involved by an official team, with top staff and top technical conditions, it turns on that enthusiasm and fighting spirit that I hadn't felt for a while. It seems I am back to 2010 when I won the STK1000 world title. We will work hard, especially in the winter tests, and we will try to be with the best riders from the very first race in Australia. Thanks to the whole MV Agusta family, to Andrea Quadranti and Gianfranco Crosta for the trust they gave me".

Raffaele De Rosa - " It is an honour for me to represent the official MV Agusta brand in WorldSSP. Although I would have liked to continue another season in WorldSBK, when I received the call from the team, I immediately said yes. The F3 has always been among the top bikes of this class, and the team is working on several technical improvements that we will soon test. I am more than motivated, and I cannot wait to try the bike on the track. Thanks to Andrea Quadranti, Giovanni Castiglioni and Gianfranco Crosta for this wonderful opportunity".

Gianfranco Crosta: "I wish to thank MV Agusta and in particular MV Agusta Reparto Corse for the trust placed in our team. This expanded group will be able to work in harmony with those who have already worked on the project in the past, with the clear intention of being among the top contenders for next season".

Andrea Quadranti: "We are delighted with this partnership with the Vamag team. Our common goal is to make the F3 even more competitive and allow the riders to fight for the top positions."
