WorldSSP300 delivers stunning racing action for young Spaniard

Spanish FIM Supersport 300 World Championship youngster Daniel Valle (Halcourier MS Racing) was able to impress in front of his home fans, as he made his first appearance on the podium in the new Championship at the Pirelli Aragon Round.

Heading into the unknown around MotorLand Aragon, the opening weekend of the WorldSSP300 Championship gave fans and riders a taste of what’s to come, and 17 year old Valle took the weekend in his stride and ended up securing a strong finish to the weekend.

Crossing the line just 0.047s off race winner Scott Deroue (MTM HS Kawasaki), Valle put in a stunning performance to fight for the victory in the closing laps: "The weekend has been great from the free practise to the race, with the lap times improving from the test. From the opening session we were always ahead and on Sunday the goal was to finish on top. We put forward a good strategy that allowed us to fight for the podium,” divulged the rider.

Spanish team-mate Borja Sánchez (Halcourier MS Racing) also had a strong weekend, but narrowly missed out on a podium finish in the opening race, locked in the closing fight for the victory.  Despite his best efforts he crossed the line 0.821s off the winner with tough weather conditions hindering the riders. Sanchez explained his feelings following the race: "I felt really good throughout the whole race. Although with four laps to go I had a moment on the straight, which made it harder for me to be involved with the battle for the victory."

Wildcard rider Marc Garcia (Halcourier MS Racing) had a tough debut at MotorLand Aragon, despite starting from a credible seventh on the grid. Starting the weekend off in a strong position, Garcia was able to take this pace through to the race and was up fighting in the top three. Despite this, the Spaniard was forced to retire from the race with technical problems.

Halcourier MS Racing now look to Round Two of the WorldSSP300 Championship at TT Circuit Assen, in just under three weeks time. Keep up with all the build up to the Round with the WorldSBK.com VideoPass, here.
