Polish team set to make debut at German WorldSBK

As the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship returns from its summer break, there is plenty to get excited about and even more so for Pazera Racing Team, as they are set to make their debut in the paddock with experienced Polish rider Pawel Szkopek.

With 22 WorldSBK and 29 WorldSSP starts to his name already, the 42 year old is making his return in the German round of the championship with the new Pazera Racing Team, with whom he races in the Polish Superbike Championship.

Entering as a one event rider, the team have made their ambitions in the WorldSBK paddock clear, and they are looking forward to the challenge ahead around the 4.225km Lausitzring circuit.

Scoring points in last year’s German Round, the Polish rider heads into this season’s round keen to get on track action underway: “I can't wait to return to the World Championship. Last year I was really close to a Top 10 finish at the Lausitzring in the wet and this season, with Pazera Racing, our package is much more competitive, so I'm really looking forward to the weekend. It will be our first WorldSBK start this year and the first one on the Pirelli tyres, so there's a lot of work to be done with the setup and electronics. I have a very good team behind me so I know we'll be able to deliver but at the same time we're realistic and know it will be very difficult to battle for points in the dry in such a competitive field. As for the track, Lausitzring is a challenging, technical and bumpy circuit which requires strong acceleration and a good suspension and electronics setup. I'd like to thank the Pazera Racing team for giving me the opportunity to return to WorldSBK during the event that's pretty much our home round and I can't wait to fly the Polish flag in front of a lot of the Polish fans.”

Racing action returns on Friday 18th August, as WorldSBK riders fight it out in free practise to secure a position in Qualifying Two on Saturday. Follow Pazera Racing Team’s progress all on the WorldSBK VideoPass.
