European Superstock 1000 team keen to impress in 2017

Alex Schacht is set to take on the European Superstock 1000 series for 2017, spearheading EAB Schacht Racing team, who make a welcome return to the MOTUL FIM World Superbike paddock.

With support from Ducati Corse, the team who were present in the STK1000 series back in 2015 have the welcomed experience and knowledge from both their team and rider.

The Danish youngster had a strong career in the European Superstock 600 Championship, and was able to secure fourth position overall in the competitive class back in 2012. Schacht then progressed up to the Superstock 1000 class and has been building his experience ever since.

Thrilled to be racing with EAB Schacht Racing, Alex Schacht explains his thoughts ahead of his new challenge: “After a few years at the front of STK600 I fell out of love with racing. I had to get my head sorted and figure out what I really wanted. I got fed up with everything, my training, my family, my team, and my bike so I had a full year with no racing at all. But I started to miss it so much and started to understand the talent I had. I returned to the Danish Superbike championship with no training at all, I was totally out of shape but I still managed to win the title 2 years in a row now. This time it is so different from when I started my career in the WorldSBK paddock. This time it is me who wants to race, it is me who wants to drive the team to the front. I know it will be a tough season, with a lot of fast riders and factory supported teams, but we have showed before in the STK600 category that we can be competitive and I am ready to show what we can do.”
