Another piece to the ESS puzzle is filled

Rob Hartog is to take on the ever competitive European Supersport cup for 2017, racing in the FIM Supersport World Championship at all European rounds of the series with Team Hartog - Jenik - Against Cancer.

Dutch rider Hartog has been competitively racing since 2011, and secured his first title in his home country of Holland in 2012; the SuperCup 600. Not short of experience in the racing world, he has also made appearances in the European Junior Cup, IDM Supersport and most recently European Superstock 1000.

The 24 year old was crowned champion in the Dutch Supersport series in 2014, but had a tough season in STK1000 last year. He will certainly be one to watch as the ESS heads to TT Circuit Assen in April.

"Of course this is not the way you want to finish a new challenge which we started last year in Superstock 1000," Hartog explains, "This is the choice we initially wanted to make in 2016, the choice for 2017 finally fell on the Supersport class, and so again a return to the lighter 600cc machine."

"We're going to race for the third year in a row on a Kawasaki, therefore I can be nothing but grateful. Nothing is taken for granted and I'm glad we can receive this support again. I would like to thank my loyal sponsors and all those who make it possible to race again on European level," Rob concludes.
