Nerds Racing announces launch ahead of next season

As thoughts are already turning towards 2018, it has been announced that Indian backed Nerds Racing are set to compete in the FIM Supersport World Championship, backed by owner Vafi Khan.

With the hope of bringing motorbike racing back into the hearts of Indian fans, the team and owner are looking forward to what is set to be a challenging and exciting year in the world of Supersport racing. Looking at securing a strong rider line up for the season, the team are a promising addition to the growing WorldSBK paddock.

Nerds Racing Team Owner Vafi Khan explained: “At last we can reveal to the world what we have been working on for many months now. Being a keen rider and competitor myself, the team and I are really excited to see how we can make our mark next season. We are looking forward to taking the highly competitive Yamaha R6 and fighting for podiums.

We’ve got a greatly experienced team lined up and I have every faith that with our Team Manager, Garry Reynders, we can launch a serious assault on our competitors.”

Securing the brains of Garry Reynders as their team manager, he explains his excitement at joining the team on their challenge for next season: I’m really excited for 2018. What Vafi has been able to pull together in these few months has been amazing and I’m looking forward to leading the team. The whole team are excited to be running the R6, we have put together what we think is a really competitive package that our riders will have faith in.”
