Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team poised with Giugliano and Gagne

Taking on the final round of the 2017 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship after a tough season, the Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team will have the expertise of Davide Giugliano and Jake Gagne for the Acerbis Qatar Round with their goal to continue to keep learning on board the Fireblade.

Giugliano has a varied record around the circuit, as he took pole position back in 2014 but was unable to keep this pace up throughout the races. With a difficult outing for the Italian last season, his experience of the track will no doubt help him throughout the weekend as he hopes to put this behind him. Continuing to work to develop the CBR1000RR SP2, he vows to end 2017 on a positive note for himself and the Ten Kate team.

Giugliano explains: “After Jerez being much harder than we expected, we head to Qatar with great motivation to do well and to finish the season on a positive note. Losail is a very different circuit compared to the European ones and the night races are something absolutely unique, so I’m looking forward to that. We need to start the event on the right foot and hopefully I will be able to give the team a strong result at this track.”

Returning to the team for the third time this season is American Jake Gagne, who made his debut at his home circuit of Laguna Seca in July. Helping the squad to develop the machine, the young American rider is greatful for the opportunity, set to debut around another circuit on the WorldSBK calendar.

Gagne explains: “I'm so excited to have another race on the World Superbike Fireblade. A huge thank you goes to Honda and Ten Kate for thinking of me again and giving me another great opportunity. Last time out in France was a big learning weekend for me and I want to keep the forward momentum rolling. Qatar will be a new track for me but I can't wait to start turning laps. I really want to finish the year strong and keep learning.”
