First wildcard confirmed for the WorldSSP300 series with HALCOURIER MS Racing

Ahead of the much anticipated debut round of the FIM Superbike 300 World Championship, HALCOURIER MS Racing have announced they will debut the first wildcard rider for 2017, as 17 year old Marc Garcia makes a step into the unknown of the series.

The Catalan rider will be competing close to home around MotorLand, joining Spanish riders Borja Sanchez and Daniel Valle in their bid to battle for podiums in the series opener. Hungry to take victory in a hotly contested series, Garcia enters the field with a strong level of racing experience behind him; on top of a top four finish overall in the hard fought Red Bull Rookies Cup.

Undergoing tests aboard the Yamaha machine he will take on the series opener on with, Garcia - who began racing at three years old - will be keen to show his pace in the tough category alongside a strong and supportive team.

Hoping his level of experience will help him tackle the unpredictable class, Garcia is confident ahead of his appearance at MotorLand aboard a Yamaha YZF-R3: "I'm very clear that we're going to try to win. The main objective is to be as far forward as possible and for that we are working very hard. I am very excited because in the test that has just been in Alcarrás, I felt very comfortable working with the team and testing the bike.”

WorldSSP300 action gets underway with free practise one on Friday 31st March at 12:15pm LT. The youngsters will take on MotorLand Aragon for the opening time of the weekend and fans get their first taste of the series, ahead of the race at 14:20pm LT on Sunday.
