Spaniard secures debut WorldSSP300 victory

In a classic move on the final lap at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola, one event FIM Supersport 300 World Championship Rider Marc Garcia (Halcouirer Racing) took his debut victory in the championship.

In an enthralling third round of the series, the young riders battled through for 11 laps at the Motul Italian Round, and Garcia was sitting at the back of the leading pack on the opening laps.

Timing his moves perfectly, he slid up the inside of Italian Alfonso Coppola (SK Racing) Variante Bassa chicane to take the victory by the narrowest of margins under the sunny Italian skies.

The 17 year old was thrilled to secure his debut victory: “I feel very happy to be on the podium and I will continue with this way so in Donington I will be stronger. At the start of the race I felt very good and in the last laps I was in the rear of the group, but I gave 100% on the final lap and I was able to overtake every rider to finish first and I am very happy. I needed this victory or podium to help my mind and improve my confidence, in order to know I can be on the top.”
