British rider bounced back from tough Saturday in France

In classic Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) dominant style, the British rider was able to take a stunning victory around the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours as he crossed the line over three seconds ahead of his rivals.

Starting from 11th position on the grid, Davies put in an impressive opening lap sequence and was quickly up and fighting for podium contention in France. Once he was able to get into the lead, his pace was never in doubt and he was able to ride his Panigale with confidence to take the victory, following a disappointing 10th position on Saturday.

On top of this race win, he is now closing in on Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) in the championship standings as they battle for the second position. Only nine points off Sykes with two rounds and four races remaining, there is all to play for in the final rounds.

Davies explains: “We had our ups and downs this season, we were miles off Tom and now we’ve closed up a bit. We have definitely closed the gap to be something we can catch, so we are looking forward to the last four races. I think everything is wide open so I’m very much looking forward to it.”
