Second home Round for Ducati as the paddock heads for the Riviera di Rimini

Aruba.it Racing - Ducati head home once more for their second and final home Round of the 2016 season at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, to the track on which the Italian manufacturer holds the record for the most wins by a factory on one circuit - beating their own record at the TT Circuit Assen. With Chaz Davies looking to take back P2 in the title fight and Davide Giugliano having found a new setup to push him further towards the front, the duo will be pushing hard to repeat the feat of Imola - where a Ducati double proved the perfect home weekend.

In preparation for the race, just after the Donington round, the team spent two days testing at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli to continue the development of the chassis and electronics of the Panigale R, and to further tailor the basic setup to Davies and Giugliano’s needs, with positive results - especially in terms of consistency with used tyres.

“It’s good to go into Misano having tested there a couple of weeks ago," says Davies. "We at least got a head start with some of the work usually done early during the race weekend, such as gear ratio and basic setup. The track has not changed much, it’s still in great shape after the resurfacing done last year, and we also introduced a couple of new components that turned out to be positive and should help us a little bit in the race. Last year I had my first podium in Misano, but we’re looking for something more this time and will try our best to put on the same display as in Imola for our supporters.”

“Misano is a track that I really like," added Giugliano on his home track. "Last year we were able to have a couple of strong races there, and this time we can also count on a two-day test during which we posted some good lap times. Our rivals are competitive everywhere, but the data gathered a couple of weeks ago could represent a key variable. Together with the team, we’re working well on the basic setup of my Panigale R. We got some important confirmation during the tests, and now we just need to make one more step to gain the couple of tenths on race pace that can make a difference in the long run.”
