Rob Hartog with Kawasaki to FIM Superstock 1000 Cup

Team Hartog-Jenik Against Cancer to debut in STK1000 in 2016.

After making his European debut last year, Rob Hartog will switch to the FIM Superstock 1000 Championship for the coming 2016 season. After having ridden the Kawasaki ZX-6R in STK600, the Dutchman will make the step up on the brand new ZX-10R Superbike with Team Hartog-Jenik Against Cancer.

The nephew of Wil Hartog, with points in almost every race and a 10th place in the standings of the European Superstock 600 on his 2015 debut, follows in the footsteps of his uncle, who became the first Dutchman to win a 500GP race in Assen in 1977.

For the coming season, Hartog's intended target was to benefit from the knowledge gained of the new circuits and of the Kawasaki, however a transformation of the 600 classes in the World Superbike championship changed the team’s plan for the year. "Obviously, we again wanted to battle with the European top in the 600cc class," commented Hartog. "However, with the transformation of the classes we have to take another step.

“The FIM Superstock 1000 cup looked like the best option for us the coming year. Last season we have shown several times we can also manage the Superbike machine. Immediately we noticed great support from Henk Salomons, Kawasaki Benelux and our loyal partners to get this project on its feet, as this is the class of the future. The result of this support is that we can grab this opportunity with both hands, along with Jenik Performance. The Kawasaki ZX-10R has been completely renewed and is an absolute favourite. I can not wait to get on the bike during the first test in late February at MotorLand Aragon!"

Team Hartog-Jenik Against Cancer will contest all nine European races of the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup on their 2016 debut.
